Prosecutor General's Office

In the judicial administration, the Prosecutor General's Office (Parquet général) forms part of the Supreme Court of Justice. It is composed of the General Public Prosecutor and the prosecuting attorneys.

The Civil Register department under the Prosecutor General's Office is in charge of delivering certificates with regard to the civil solidarity pact and the registration of partnerships (legalised partnerships between 2 people - PACS or pacte civil de solidarité) (in the case of a declaration or termination of a partnership). The office also manages the extracts from criminal records which are generated from a register containing all sentences and convictions that have been pronounced by the Luxembourg criminal jurisdictions, and in some cases, by foreign criminal jurisdictions.
