Apostille (of the Hague)

Stamp issued by the competent authority to confirm the authenticity of a signature, seal or stamp on a public document.

Apostilles can only be issued for public documents issued in one country party to the Hague Convention (also known as Apostille Convention) and that are to be used in another country which is also a party to the Convention.

Apostilles do not certify the content of the document, they aim to remove the legalization chain required in the past.
