The Ministry of Education, Children and Youth (Ministère de l'Éducation nationale, de l'Enfance et de la Jeunesse) is responsible for the planning and administration of all education offered in Luxembourg (except for higher education, which is the responsibility of the Ministry for Research and Higher Education – Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche). To this end, each cycle or type of education is coordinated by a supervisory service placed under the Ministry.

The Ministry is also responsible for all aspects relating to early childhood and children's rights, recognition of diplomas (baccalaureates or maturas) or levels of foreign education, as well as vocational training.
