Would you like to acquire the Luxembourgish nationality by naturalisation?

Among other conditions, you must provide proof of your knowledge of:

• the Luxembourgish language via the certificate attesting to the successful completion of the Luxembourg language evaluation test (oral expression and listening comprehension); and
• the fundamental rights of citizens, Luxembourg's state and local institutions, as well as its history and European integration. This should be documented by the 'Vivre ensemble au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg' certificate.

In addition, if you have been residing in Luxembourg for at least 20 years, of which the past 12 months were uninterrupted, you can opt for Luxembourg nationality. In this case, you must provide proof of participation in a Luxembourg language course.

Following this 24-hour course, you will be issued with a certificate of participation in the Luxembourg language course, which you should enclose with your application.
