Third-country nationals who benefit from international protection and hold an 'international protection' residence permit can apply for its renewal if they still meet the eligibility conditions.

How to proceed

Application for renewal of the residence permit

In order to renew a residence permit, recipients of international protection must apply to the General Department of immigration of the Ministry of Home Affairs within 2 months prior to the expiry date of the residence permit.

The application for renewal must be filed using a specific form and must be accompanied by the following documents:

To apply for a renewal of their travel document, holders of a refugee travel document must go in person to the General Department of immigration with their old travel document.

This free renewal must be requested 2 months before the expiry of the travel document.

Loss, theft or damage to the residence permit

If the residence permit is lost, stolen or damaged, a special procedure needs to be followed.
